The college basketball betting season is upon us, and already fans and media alike have plenty to talk about. This weekend is American Thanksgiving, which is always an excellent time to be a sports fan, because of the amazing matchups scheduled. Today we will be looking at a couple of NCAA bookie software games that may force football handicappers to switch the channel.

Syracuse/Virginia Tech v Stanford/Oklahoma State – As of this writing, the semifinal matchups featuring Syracuse v Virginia Tech and Stanford v Oklahoma State for the NIT tournament have yet to be decided. However, by Saturday, the winners of the two semifinals will collide for a chance to be named 2011 NIT Champion. For all intents and purposes, we are going with a Syracuse v Oklahoma State Championship, as both schools have much better basketball programs than Tech and Stanford.

On paper, a Syracuse v Oklahoma State final could be an early preview of a sweet 16 or elite eight matchup between the two squads. Given the way that Kris Joseph and Dion Walters have carried Syracuse the last couple of seasons, NBA fans would be foolish to pick Oklahoma State over Syracuse this coming weekend.

Valparaiso v Ohio St – This game features the five and one Valparaiso taking on the Ohio State Buckeyes, who are ranked third in the nation. Theoretically, this should be the first of many cupcake games for the Buckeyes, who return basically the same roster as the one that narrowly lost to Kentucky in the elite eight portion of the 2011 March Madness tournament.

In saying that, we wouldn’t be surprised at all if Valparaiso shocked the wonder by keeping things close with Ohio State. After all at five and one they have either been beneficiaries of an easy schedule or really are a good team.
